About the project
Sakae En Melbourne creates an animated Japanese dining atmosphere through blue booths, a red ceiling band and yellow cube pendants. A long illustrated mural and moving food display run through the space, while tabletop barbecue and hotpot equipment make the meal interactive. Warm display niches and timber details add another layer behind the black gridded frontage.

Design approach
Colour has a clear role: blue anchors the seats, red and yellow establish an overhead rhythm, and the mural carries the visual story. Booth modules relate to food selection and tabletop cooking, with pale tables balancing the equipment. Illuminated display niches add close-up detail within the lively room.
